Attention Swimmers and Divers:
The annual Winter Sports Banquet will be held on March 18th at 6pm in the Gym. At around 7p, Swimming will break off and meet in the Cafeteria for our individual and team awards. Please plan to attend.
Warm-ups should be turned in to Barb Piccirilli or Deb Brax ASAP. DO NOT BRING THEM TO SCHOOL. They need to be dropped off at either of their houses. Please remember to WASH them before returning them.
Fueled by Bay High's first ever State Champion Diver and first ever Top-8 individual qualifier, Bay High posted a school record 35pts at the State meet this year. This finish placed them 19th out of the 64 teams who scored points. There are most likely even more schools who did not score at the Championship. Every Bay swimmer met or exceeded their seed times and several swimmers posted the lifetime bests in an outstanding effort. Amanda moved up several places in the 200 IM to 13th and met her seed in the 100 Back (8th) while Nikki also upheld her #1 seed. The 400FR moved up 2 spots to 21st as Lauren, Kristen and Kiki all swam lifetime best times. Congratulations to all!! We're very PROUD!!!!
5 Bay Girls make it to STATES, while team finishes in best ever 9th place!
irst time in 5+ years, Bay High will be sending a relay to Ohio's State meet. In addition, Amanda qualified in the 200IM and 100 Back, while Nikki qualified in Diving. In fact, she reset her own District record and penned a NEW STATE RECORD for diving with her 502.80pts at CSU. The girls 200 FR, long thought to be Bay's best shot at a state berth, swam a season best 1:46.60 and finished 9th in the NE, but was 29th in the state, leaving them 5 places shy. However, some unbelieveable swims by Lauren, Kristen, Kiki and Amanda propelled the 400 FR into the State Championship with their 7th place finish in 3:55.60. They dropped over 5 seconds from the Sectional swims one week ago. Team-wise, the Lady Rockets scored 95pts and finished in the top-10 for the first time ever!

Lady Rockets Qualifiy swimmers in all but 2 events to District meet
While the Rocket men are done for the year, the ladies are still blasting off! Bay's girls qualified 11 members to this years Northeast District meet. Bay will have a contestant in EVERY event except the 500 Fee and 100 Breaststroke. All three relays qualified for the first time ever, while Bay also celebrated its first-ever Sectional Champion in 200 IM. The gals scored a school record 149pts while finishing 6th at Lakewood. Amanda, Kristen and Kiki qualified in ALL FOUR of their events, while Lauren also added one individual event.
This years qualifiers include: Lizzie, Nicole, Nikki, Emily, Shannon, Kiki, Kristen, Mackenzie, Amanda, Kiki and Lauren.
